Mercury Girls Basketball Roundup (Jan. 23): LeClaire leads OJR past Pottsgrove

Owen J. Roberts 47, Pottsgrove 36 >> The Wildcats made an early lead hold up Thursday as they handled the Falcons in PAC divisional crossover action.

Olivia LeClaire headed a trio of double-figure scorers for Owen J, collecting 17 points ahead of teammates Brooke Greenawald (11) and Avery White (10). Sydney Mowrey was high scorer for Pottsgrove with 13.

Methacton 68, Pottstown 26 >> Nicole Timko and Sydney Tornetta headed a powerful offense that carried the Warriors to victory over the Trojans in Thursday’s PAC crossover game.

Timko scored a game-high 21 points — nine of them from three-point range — while Tornetta had 19, becoming the program’s seventh-leading scorer at 956. Tornetta also kicked in with six rebounds behind Sydney Hargrove and Caroline Pellicano’s eight, with Allie Hazlett clearing another seven boards.

Perkiomen Valley 74, Upper Perkiomen 31 >> The Vikings rolled the Indians in Thursday’s PAC crossover game.

PV’s Grace Ramsey was game high scorer with 16 points.  The Vikes’ Naiya Daisey contributed 13 points and Emma Miley added 10 points to the effort.  Upper Perk had two players in double figures — Kelsey Bernhart( 11 points) and Olivia Rogers (10) — on a night when UP honored the seniors of both teams during a pre-game ceremony.

Spring-Ford 62, Upper Merion 12 >> Lucy Olsen claimed game scoring honors for the Rams as they rolled to victory over the Vikings in Thursday’s PAC crossover game.

Olsen hit for 16 points in helping Spring-Ford bolt to a 45-3 halftime lead.

Pope John Paul II 39, Norristown 19 >> Amelia Kennedy came close to equalling the Eagles’ entire offensive output in leading the Golden Panthers to victory in Thursday’s PAC divisional crossover game.

Kennedy finished with a game-high 18 points. Teammate Mary Kate Shannon chipped in with another 11 points for PJP.

Fleetwood 58, Daniel Boone 15 >> Alexis Hess and Cloey Wessner each scored 10 points Thursday, leading the Tigers past the Blazers in Berks Conference play

Guinivere Fowlkes and Allyson Boyer each scored four points to lead Boone.
