Mekoue’s sprints lead Episcopal Academy to win

Episcopal Academy’s Kelly Mekoue won two individual events and anchored the 200 free relay as the Churchwomen defeated Notre Dame, 106-80.

Mekoue was victorious in the 50 free (24.52) and 100 free (52.43). Also for EA, Kat Harrar bested the field in the diving event with a score of 219.60.

For the Irish, Madison Kolessar and Mia Abruzzo were quadruple winners.

Kolessar helped Notre Dame to wins in the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay, while taking first place in the 200 free (1:55.28) and 100 backstroke (59.27). Abruzzo was also a member of both relay wins and claimed top honors in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.75) and 100 butterfly (56.92).

In the Del Val League:

Chichester 86, Interboro 56 >> Caty Bishop took first place in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle and anchored Chi’s winning 200 free relay.

Other multiple winners for the Eagles were Amanda Conte (200 medley relay, 200 IM), Talia Snyder (100 butterfly, 200 free relay), Kelsie Willauer (100 free, 200 free relay) and Kate Parag (200 medley relay, 100 backstroke).

Abigail Giorgano and Abigail Giordano were double winners for the Bucs.

Corey Kan’s quadruple-winner performance propelled Chichester to a 57-37 Del Val League win over Chichester.

Kan led off the Eagles’ winning 200 medley anchor and anchored the 200 free relay that took first in 1:52.09. In individual events, Kan placed first in the 50 free (26.52) and 100 free (57.26).

Elsewhere for Chi, Chris Brown won the 500 free, and Luke Schealer bested the field in the 100 back.

Max Hershey was victorious in the 100 breaststroke for Interboro.
