Mercury Roundup (Jan. 13): Pope John Paul II girls push past Upper Merion

Pope John Paul II 57, Upper Merion 20 >> Tess Crossan nearly finished with a triple double as the Golden Panthers cruised to a PAC Frontier win Monday.

Crossan finished with nine points, 11 Rebounds and eight assists in the win. Haley Jackson led PJP with 10 points and added 10 rebounds. Kayla Viney chipped in eight steals in the victory.

Souderton 51, Perkiomen Valley 38 >> Naiya Daisey had 14 points as the Vikings dropped Monday’s non-league contest. Grace Ramsey added eight points in the loss.

Jordan Zimmerman led Souderton with 19 points, including three triples, and Olivia Schneider added 15 points.

Boys Basketball

Perkiomen Valley 40, Souderton 33 >> Tyler Lapetina’s PV points guided PV to a non-league victory Monday.

The Vikings trailed 30-28 entering the fourth quarter, but locked down defensively in the fourth, holding Souderton to three points in the final eight minutes.

Kameron Parks added 11 for PV.
