Presenting 2019 All-Main Line girls soccer teams

The Main Line high school girls’ soccer scene featured a deep lineup of strong squads that, although they did not capture the ultimate prize, enjoyed successful campaigns this fall.
Conestoga (21-4) was Central League champion, then placed third in the PIAA District 1 4A tourney, following it up with an appearance in the PIAA 4A state championship game.
Another Central League squad, Lower Merion (16-2), lost in their PIAA District 1 4A tournament opener as a No. 4 seed, but the Aces compiled an excellent record during the regular season. Radnor (9-7-2) also lost in the first round of Districts, on penalty kicks.
In the Inter-Ac, Episcopal Academy (11-7), Agnes Irwin (10-9-3) and Baldwin (12-11-1) compiled winning records, the Polar Bears posting their fourth straight year in double-digit wins.
In the Friends’ Schools League, Shipley (10-5-1) advanced to the FSL championship final for the fourth consecutive year, and Friends’ Central (10-6-1) posted a winning record.
Other Main Line squads that enjoyed winning seasons this fall were Villa Maria Academy (11-6-1) and Barrack Hebrew Academy (10-4-1).
The All-Main Line high school girls’ soccer teams are selected by the coaches. Because Main Line Media News covers 19 high schools, the Main Line Media News sports staff limits the number of sports available to first team, second team and honorable mention – but follows the priority of the coaches’ selections.
