Mitchell’s late scores helps Delco Christian outscore Mercersburg

Delco Christian started fast Saturday. Then it had Jordan Mitchell to draw on late.

The Knights posted 44 points in the first half, and Mitchell scored the team’s final four touchdowns to lead it to a 58-20 win over Mercersburg Academy in Kestyone League action.

Mitchell caught passes of 51 and 35 yards from Ben Iott to stake Delco Christian to a 44-20 lead at halftime. Mitchell added a one-yard scoring run in the third quarter, then capped the scoring with a 91-yard run on a fake punt in the fourth to set the final margin.

Iott also hit Robert Lucas with a 21-yard touchdown in the first half. Cavin Chen added a 40-yard touchdown run for the Knights.
