Jim Stewart, Jr.

Malvern >> Malvern Prep recently announced that Jim Stewart, Jr. ’86 is the school’s new Athletic Director, replacing Kurt Ruch, who is leaving Malvern Prep after 23 years to become the Athletic Director at George School.
Stewart joins Malvern by way of Holy Ghost Prep, where he served as Athletic Director for 27 years overseeing a competitive 14-sport, 34-team program. During his time at Holy Ghost Prep, Stewart was responsible for making ice hockey an interscholastic sport and also adding five teams to the school’s roster of sports including lacrosse, ultimate frisbee, rowing, intramural basketball, and flag football.
“Malvern Prep was my home for the first 18 years of my life,” said Stewart. “I learned to love sports because of Malvern Prep and the influence of the faculty and Augustinians on me formed who I am today. I am excited to go back to the place that gave me so much. I’m excited to get started, and am very fortunate that the experience at Holy Ghost Prep has prepared me for this change.”
