Mercury Softball Roundup: Peck homers twice as Spring-Ford slams Pottsgrove

Spring-Ford 21, Pottsgrove 3, 5 inn. >> Bri Peck hit two home runs and had four RBI as the Rams routed the Falcons in a five-inning game. Ashley Della Guardia (2-for-2, 3 RBI) and Bridget Sharkey (1-for-1, 3 RBI) also homered for S-F. Julia Heine (3-for-4, 4 RBI) and Jules Hughes had three hits apiece for the Rams, which had a 13-run first inning.

Kelsey Hochstuhl hit a home run and had three RBI for Pottsgrove.

Upper Perkiomen 6, Boyertown 2 >> Dani Freer hit two doubles and Kelsey Bernhart (2-for-3) drove in two runs to lead Upper Perk over Boyertown.

Alexa Banner also had two hits in support of winning pitcher Lily Dibble (7 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 5 K, 2 BB).

Kylie Hertzler was 2-for-3 and homered for the Bears and Logan Black was 2-for-4.

Perkiomen Valley 13, Phoenixville 3, 5 inn. >> The Vikings scored six unearned runs in the first inning and went on a five-inning win over the Phantoms.
Katie Hurd had a two-run triple and Sela Fusco had a home run and three RBI to lead PV. Bella Bruni got the pitching win.

Methacton 7, Pope John Paul II 1 >> Caroline Pellicano threw a complete-game three-hitter to carry the Warriors. Pellicano struck out eight.

Offensively, Nicole Timko had two doubles and two RBI while Nichole Dorn and Abby Penjuke tripled and had an RBI each. Dani Dare and Grace Harvey (2-for-3) each had a triple for PJP.

Upper Merion 9, Owen J. Roberts 8 >> The Wildcats’ rally in the seventh inning fell one run short in a PAC crossover defeat.

The Vikings led 9-4 before OJR scored one run in the sixth and three more in the bottom of the seventh. Lauren Del Giudice (1-for-4, four RBI) and Valentina Marino (2-for-3, two RBI) homered for Upper Merion. Casey Walker went 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBI for OJR.

Fleetwood 2, Daniel Boone 1 >> Kylee Paules’ RBI single in the sixth inning decided a Berks II pitchers’ duel between the Tigers’ Makayla Calamita and Blazers’ Caitlin McCrone.

Calamita threw a complete-game two-hitter, Boone’s lone run coming unearned. McCrone went six innings, allowed five hits, two runs and struck out five for three walks in the loss.
