Five Games to Watch in the Inter-Ac in 2019

Will Malvern run the table in the Inter-AC again? Graduating a bevy of starters from its undefeated team last season, Malvern will look upon a youth movement to guide the team to another Inter-AC title. Two of their games pepper this list, both serving as conference-deciding contests.

Penn Charter at Conwell-Egan, Friday, Sept. 6, 7 p.m.

The Quakers are 17-3 in the last two seasons, 8-2 in the Inter-Ac. The Eagles fell in the PIAA Class 3A quarterfinals last year.

Malvern at La Salle, Saturday, Sept. 7, 1 p.m.

It’s an early showdown between two of the top programs in the Philadelphia area. The Friars won last year, 35-23.

Penn Charter at Malvern Prep, Saturday, Oct. 19, 1:30 p.m.

Odds are, this game will determine the Inter-Ac League championship. It has the last two seasons.

Germantown Academy at Penn Charter, Saturday, Nov. 9, 1:30 p.m.

The oldest prep school rivalry in the country kicks off for the 133rd time at 1:30 p.m. The Quakers have the last two meetings. .

Haverford School at Episcopal Academy, Saturday, Nov. 9, 1:30 p.m.

It’s the second-oldest prep school rivalry in the state. The Fords and Churchmen meet for the 120th time.
