Balance lifts Upper Darby over Pottstown for second win

Wins have been tough to come by for the Upper Darby girls soccer team this season, so Monday’s 3-2 nonleague victory over Pottstown had to be sweet for the Royals.

In the Ches-Mont League:

Sun Valley 2, Bishop Shanahan 2 >> Sami Bowen had two goals as the Vanguards (8-7-1, 4-7-1) and Eagles battled to a double overtime draw.

Bowen put home a pass from Olivia Lambert to tie the game and then converted a feed from freshman Jackie Oldham to put Sun Valley in front, 2-1. Elisabeth Morgan had a strong game in the midfield for the Vanguards.

In the Central League:

Conestoga 3, Lower Merion 2 >> Ceara Sweeney blasted a shot from the corner of the 18-yard line to lift the Pioneers over the Aces.

Hannah Morgan and Rachel Dirico also scored for Conestoga (12-0-4 overall, 9-0-2 league).
