3 Conestoga seniors face charges in hazing incident

From Adam Farence, Daily Local News

WEST CHESTER >> Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan announced criminal charges against three Conestoga High School seniors Friday for allegedly sodomizing a freshman teammate with a broomstick.

According to Hogan, the T/E football team has observed a ritual called “no-gay Thursday, in which things that they would ordinarily consider gay were not gay.”

The victim, Hogan said, refused to strip down to his underwear and clean the locker room with the other freshman when ordered to do so by the upperclassman. Two seniors held him down, while the third sodomized him with a broom handle. One of the seniors was a captain on the team.

Hogan withheld the names of the seniors since they were all 17 and considered juveniles.

The three were charged with assault and related charges, Hogan said.
