Lee and Codreanu emerged victorious from their quarterfinal and semifinal matches at the District 1-AAA Singles Championships at Healthplex in Springfield to set up an all-Pioneer Athletic Conference final. The final will be contested Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Legacy in Philadelphia.

Lee, the No. 2 seed and PAC-10 Singles Tournament winner, defeated Harriton’s Nina Hoog, 6-3, 7-5 in the semis after dispatching Central Bucks East’s Syndey Lund, 6-2, 6-0 a round earlier.

The defending District 1 champion, Codreanu wasn’t willing to give her title up easily as she dropped No. 1 seed Payton Bradley of Downingtown West, 6-4, 6-0 in the semifinals, a rematch of the 2014 final. Codreanu thumped Henderson’s Emma Clark, 6-1, 6-1, in the quarterfinals.

By reaching the final, the pair of PAC standouts ensured their return trips to the PIAA Championships. Lee reached the semifinal in 2014 as a sophomore. Codreanu was the PIAA silver medalist as a sophomore in 2013.

Delco Christian’s Elene Tsokilauri became the Class AA champion Saturday with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Nazareth’s Alex Vo.
