Six Episcopal Academy runners earn medals at the McAlpin Invitational
Episcopal Academy junior Jake Jorgensen finished first, with an impressive time of 17:49, at the McAlpin Invitational Friday, held in memory of long-time Episcopal cross-country coach Frank McAlpin, who passed away in 2002. Despite the blistering heat, Episcopal had six runners finish in the top 15 each earning a medal. Following Jake across the finish line were teammates Jack O’Connell (fifth), Elias Lindgren (sixth), Jermaine Rhoden (seventh), Carson Fischer (13th) and Matt Davis (14th). Competing in the boys cross-country race were Episcopal, Friends Central, The Hill School and Shipley.
EA boys’ cross-country coach Jim Farrell said, “This was the largest group of boys’ teams that Episcopal has had at the McAlpin Invitational. The team loves the challenge of competing and hosting the race on its challenging course.”
