Neiman leads Oley Valley past Hamburg
The Oley Valley High School girls’ soccer team played host to Hamburg on Monday, Sept. 8. A smothering defense and timely goals helped Oley to a 3-0 victory.
It was the Lady Lynx first win of the young season, giving them a 1-2 non-league record.
Shelby Neiman led the Oley Valley offense with two of the three Lynx goals. Robin Erb was the other goal scorer, while Elizabeth Meals and Julia Mortimer each had one assist.
Goalkeeper Sydney Weise made 10 saves to record the shutout.
Oley opened up the Berks League season on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at home against Antietam. Due to our press deadline, we are unable to report the result of the match.
Oley Valley will be home again on Thursday, Sept. 11, to take on Brandywine Heights in another league battle.
