The Exeter High boys’ basketball team got its District 3-AAAA Tournament underway on the right foot with a 61-56 victory over Manheim Township in a preliminary round contest on Feb. 15.
The victory sends the Eagles to the first round of the tournament where they will take on Cedar Crest, the third seed of the tournament, on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
With the game tied at 13-13 after one quarter, Exeter outscored Manheim Township in the second quarter, 16-4. Manheim Township was able to cut into the Exeter lead in the second half, but the Eagles were able to hold them off.
Michael Menet led the way for Exeter with 24 points in the game. Taylor Trojanowski chipped in with 16 points, while Dan Garcia netted seven and Brett Gilbert had six.
