PAC-10 Softball Roundup: PV offense wakes up late to top Boyertown; Phoenixville stuns Pottsgrove behind Eldridge’s effort

Perkiomen Valley 11, Boyertown 9 >> Ana Bruni and Ashley Bangert each finished with three hits as the Vikings used a four-run fifth inning to tie the game before scoring three more runs in the later innings to win 11-9.

Lauren Waller finished with four hits and four RBI (including a home run) for Boyertown, which got a solid performance offensively from Sarah Reinert (three runs scored).

Abby Wild got the win in the circle for the Vikings, tossing four innings while allowing four earned on six hits and striking out five.

Rachel Helverson had three RBI and a triple in the win.

Spring-Ford 8, Pope John Paul II 1 >> Morgan Maziarz led the way with three hits while Sam Lindsay pitched a solid game in the circle as the Rams picked up a league victory over the Golden Panthers.

Abby Files registered two RBI for the Rams as the team used a pair of 2-run innings mixed with a 3-run sixth to run away with the win. Lindsay allowed three hits and one run (unearned) in her seven innings of work.

Maggie McConney and Keira Walton finished with two hits in the win.

Phoenixville 8, Pottsgrove 6 >> The Phantoms used a couple four-run at-bats down the stretch to overtake – then pull away from – the Falcons in their PAC-10 contest.

Jess Eldridge (home run), Miranda McMahon and Liberty Allain each drove in pairs of runs as Phoenixville scored four in the fifth to erase Pottsgrove’s initial 3-0 lead, then plated four more in the sixth after the Falcons pulled even in the fifth. Olivia Klaptosky (3-for-5, triple, three RBI) was the Falcons’ top hitter, with Mel Cappelli (3-for-4) doing the same for the Phantoms.

Upper Perkiomen 11, Pottstown 1 >> Emily Moll was efficient in the circle, throwing five innings while allowing four hits and one earned with six strikeouts, as the Indians picked up the mercy rule victory. Autumn Gahman finished with a game-high four RBI while Emily Kern added another two RBI as the Tribe used a seven-run fifth inning to close out the contest.
Kat Kincade, Gianna Epps (RBI) and Alivia Lopez each recorded hits for Pottstown.
