Mercury-Area Roundup: Spring-Ford holds off late Pottsgrove rally

Spring-Ford 4, Pottsgrove 3 >> The Rams held off the Falcons’ three-run seventh inning to come away with a big PAC-10 win.

Megan Kern led the Rams with a 3-for-4 effort with two RBI as the Rams scored runs in the fifth and the sixth before adding two critical runs in the top half of the seventh.

Sam Lindsay got the win in the circle after throwing a complete game, allowing five hits and three runs (zero earned) and striking out two.

Abby Files hit a solo home run for the Rams in the win.

Cori Dickinson led Pottsgrove with two RBI.

Boyertown 6, Phoenixville 1 >> Mandy Kalil scattered six hits and allowed one earned as the Bears topped the Phantoms in PAC-10 play.

Sarah Reinert contributed a two-hit effort with three runs scored with Lauren Waller and Sarah Eidle each adding two hits.

Veronica Maryanski went 2-for-3 with one putout in the field.

Upper Perkiomen 2, Pope John Paul II 1 >> Karlee Fretz registered a team-high two hits while Alyssa Sullivan and Taylor Lindsay each added an RBI as the Tribe topped the Golden Panthers in league play.

Linsday got the win in the circle, throwing a complete game while allowing three hits and striking out nine.

Alex Szpindor too the loss for PJP after allowing seven hits and striking out five. Ashley Remmington had two hits for PJP.

Muhlenberg 7, Daniel Boone 2 >> Aryanna Weller hit a two-run home run for the Blazers but it wasn’t enough in a Berks Section 1 showing.

Perkiomen School 3, Renaissance Academy 1 >> Gabby Molnar and Lena Felix each contributed two hits as the Perkiomen School pulled away with a two-run sixth to top Renaissance.

Pitcher Juliane Haussmann helped out her cause with two RBI in the win. In the circle, Haussmann went the full seven, allowing four hits and one earned while striking out 15.
