Recap

Gabby Farrell scored all four goals as Neshaminy blanked the Phantoms, 4-0, in the opening round of the District 1-AAA playoffs at Harry E. Franks Stadium.
The No. 11 seed Redskins took a 1-0 halftime lead on Farrell’s first goal at the 19-minute mark.
The 22nd-seeded Phantoms saw their year end at 12-7 overall after winning the Pioneer Athletic Conference Frontier Division with a 9-4 mark. Phoenixville had a six-game winning streak at one point.
“She is really good, number 10 (Farrell).” said Phoenixville junior forward Dakota Graham, who had several strong shots on goal. “Coach (Tim) Raub had a scouting report to look out for her. We tried our best to mark her, but she was really good. We had some chances, but we didn’t put it away. We played well as a team. It was a great team effort.”
Neshaminy moved into the second round Thursday night against Henderson, a 3-1 winner over North Penn.
“We had the scouting reports,” said Raub, who finished his third year of leading the Phantoms. “She is quick, technical and returns quickly on the ball.”
Raub said he felt badly for his five seniors in their final game after giving their heart and soul throughout their careers. Senior goalie Lainey Michaud had seven saves in her last game.
Phoenixville also has a lot to look forward with a number of talented young players. Six freshmen saw playing time against the Redskins, who captured the state championship in 2013.
