The Daniel Boone girls soccer team is going to states.

The fast-starting Blazers got a goal in the second minute from Kayleigh Kardos, who added a second goal for herself in the second half, as No. 6 Daniel Boone defeated No. 3 Manheim Township, 2-0, in the District 3-AAA quarterfinals Saturday at Tulpehocken High School.

Daniel Boone (15-2-2) will meet No. 7 Conestoga Valley – a winner over Cedar Crest, 1-1 (6-5 in penalty kicks) Saturday – on Tuesday at a site and time to be determined.

A long throw-in by Alayna Roesener set up Kardos’ game-sealing score with 32:50 remaining in the contest. Megan Breidigan was credited with an assist.

Blazers goalkeeper Makenzie Witzel recorded the shutout with 9 saves.
