Penncrest looks to keep historic run alive

Penncrest (11-7-4) will try to pick up its second PIAA playoff victory in program history when it faces Ephrata in the Class 4A quarterfinals Saturday at Upper Perkiomen High School (11 a.m.).

The Lions knocked off District 4 champ Williamsport in the opening round, 2-1, to record its first state playoff win. Adding to its amazing run will not be easy. The Mountaineers (20-3-1), the No. 3 team out of District 3, are coming off of a 2-1 victory over District 1 champ Conestoga in the opening round of the state tournament.
