Villa Joseph Marie sending 14 student-athletes to the next level

HOLLAND – Villa Joseph Marie High School has announced that it will host an athletic commitment ceremony for more than a dozen athletes on Tuesday, April 25.

Five of the girls play for the PIAA Class AAA runner-up soccer team including leading scorer Murphy Agnew. A forward, Agnew tallied 91 goals in four seasons for the Jems including 28 last fall. During her time on Holland Road, Agnew helped Villa to a PIAA Class AA title in 2014 and back to the finals her last two seasons.

The other soccer players taking their game to the next level include Casey Kilchrist (LaSalle), Shannon Coleman (Mount Saint Mary’s), Eva Ruppersberger (Arcadia) and Danielle Samson (Philadelphia University).

There is also a pair of lacrosse players moving on for Villa including Samantha DelViscio (Penn State) and Madeline Major (Lehigh) along with swimmers Alexis Morace (Lebanon Valley), Christie Nemceff (Monmouth) and Meghan Reguera (Cabrini). DelViscio recently surpassed 200 career goals for the Jems, scoring six times in a lopsided win over Catholic Academies rival Saint Basil’s.

Additionally, Marisa Morano is taking her basketball game to Ursinus, golfer Briana Hocker is headed to Alvernia, Nicole Trzaska will play field hockey at The Ohio State University and Katherine Schramm will run track at Loyola.
