Fisher, King give Strath Haven a lift

Lizzie King’s two goals and a four-save effort from Katie Fisher led Strath Haven to a 4-0 shutout of Lower Merion in Central League girls soccer action Monday night. Maddie Forbes and Margot Hotham also scored for the Panthers (4-2, 4-0).
Also in the Central League:
Harriton 2, Garnet Valley 0 >> Samantha Bigham and Nadine Horneck took care of the scoring, while Claire Coyle was perfect in net with seven saves. Ashley Bufano and Linda Zamrowski combined to stop five shots in goal for the Jaguars.
In the Catholic League:
Cardinal O’Hara 9, Neumann Goretti 1 >> Jenn West and Molly Wolfe each scored twice, while goalie Kerry Patterson stopped three shots as Cardinal O’Hara rolled.
Bonner-Prendergast 6, Bishop McDevitt 0 >> Allison Hart netted two goals, while Paris Banks and Kayla McLaughlin were flawless in goal.
Little Flower 5, Archbishop Carroll 0 >> Melanie Linn’s goalkeeping proved problematic for the Patriots, as she posted seven saves. Grace Gallagher and Claire Boylan combined for nine saves for Carroll (1-4, 1-3).
In nonleague action:
Marple Newtown 2, Villa Maria 0 >> Megan Lynch netted both of Marple Newtown’s goals, while Halle Robinson compiled 10 saves. Shannon McCarthy notched an assist on Lynch’s second tally.
Sun Valley 1, Unionville 0 >> Amy Parker was flawless in net with 13 saves, and Samantha Bowens’ first-half goal off a Maddison Skwirut pass wound up as the game-winner. Devon Linn and Angelina Maroulis played shutdown defense at fullback for the Vanguards (5-1).
Agnes Irwin 1, Friends Central 1 >> Claire Micheletti used her head well off a delivery from Lydia Bartosh to help Agnes Irwin pull ahead in the third minute, but the Owls couldn’t stop Friends Central from tallying a late goal in an eventual draw. Kendall Shein notched one save for the Owls.
Baldwin 5, Delaware County Christian 0 >> Gia Vicari gave Delco Christian fits with her two goals and, despite a nine-save effort from Faith Warmhold, the Knights couldn’t break through.
