Katie Bean broke open a scoreless game with 11:42 left in regulation as the Pottsgrove field hockey team used a late burst to down Upper Merion 4-0 Monday afternoon in a Pioneer Athletic Conference Frontier Division matchup.

A minute after breaking up the scoreless tie, Bean assisted on Riley Simon’s goal before Bailey Murphy closed out the game with a pair of scores for the Falcons. Simon and Justine Fretz registered assists on the game while Amanda Stone made six saves to preserve the shutout. Upper Merion keeper Anya Waller made 12 saves in the cage.
