Mercury Field Hockey Roundup: Hill sees win streak end

Germantown Ac. 4, Hill School 2 >> The Blues sustained their first loss since Sept. 22, doubled up by Germantown Academy in their non-league pairing Wednesday.

With a back-and-forth start to the game, the first goal would not be recorded for almost 25 minutes. GA would strike first to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. But  coming out of halftime, the Blues’ Josephine Palde answered 48 seconds in on a perfectly executed corner with Alex Conway getting the assist.

Hill and GA would preserve a 1-1 game for the next 10 minutes until GA found the cage for back-to-back goals. Once again, Palde and Conway would connect for Hill’s second goal of the game to pull them within two of the Patriots. Time ran out, though, and GA would take the win on Hill’s field.
