Mercury Field Hockey Roundup: Owen J. Roberts blanks Methacton

Owen J. Roberts 2, Methacton 0 >> The Wildcats capped their league regular season 11-2 with a shutout of the Warriors.

Julia Lamb handled the scoring for OJR (15-2) on helpers from Sophia Murray and Jenna Kirby. Methacton was held to zero shots on goal while Warriors’ goalie Molly Frey had three saves.

Upper Perkiomen 4, Pope John Paul II 0 >> UP got goals from Abriana Gatto, Margo May, Luci Carpenter and Morgan Fiorito while Jenna Fiorito and Tokada Wells (2) had assists. The Indians improved to 10-3 PAC (11-7 overall) and have qualified for the PAC Final Four, set for Tuesday at Upper Perk. The hosts will meet undefeated Liberty Division champion Perkiomen Valley (18-0) in the semifinals.

Spring-Ford 7, West Chester Henderson 3 >> Ashley Sessa figured in on five of the Rams’ goals as they rolled the Warriors in non-league action.

Sessa scored once in the first half and three times in the second, in addition to assisting on the first of Mackenna Maloney’s three goals. Ashley Della Guardia and Lauren Ruffo combined for four saves in the Spring-Ford nets, Ruffo with three of them on a similar number of shots.
