Reporter Field Hockey Roundup: Plymouth Whitemarsh closing in on another outright SOL American title

Kaleigh Missimer scored twice, Kayla Link had three assists and the Plymouth Whitemarsh field hockey team clinched at least a share of the Suburban One League American Conference title by shutting out visiting Abington 4-0 Thursday.

Kennedy Reardon added a goal and an assist while Ava Borkowski also scored for the Colonials (13-1-0, 11-0-0 conference), who have now won 50 straight SOL American games. Sarah Trask stopped two shots for the shutout.

PW, which has won its last five, hosts North Penn Friday then can earn an sixth consecutive outright conference title at home against Upper Dublin Tuesday.

Upper Dublin 1, Upper Moreland 0 >> Jenn McCarry’s scored 45 seconds into the contest and Upper Dublin made the quick strike stand up to end a two-game losing skid.

Peyton Kullmann collected the assist for the Cardinals (6-5-1, 5-4-1 SOL American) while Megan Muth made three saves as UD earned its sixth shutout.

Isabella Guarenghi stopped 12 shots for Upper Moreland (6-9-0, 4-7-0), which had its two-game win streak snapped.

Wissahickon 8, Cheltenham 0 >> Hannah Havrilla had two goals and an assist, Lauren Donofrio recorded a goal and two assists and Wissahickon cruised to a fourth-straight victory.

Kendal Williams, Becca Dolfman, Brynne Miller, Molly Fuhrmeister and Steph Scoma also scored for the Trojans (8-4-0, 7-4-0), which has won seven of eight since a 1-3 start to the season. Wissahickon goalie Megan Reilly made five saves.

Goalkeeper Nimi Badejoko made 17 saves for Cheltenham (0-10-0, 0-10-0).

Springfield-Montco 2, Hatboro-Horsham 0 >> Springfield posted its sixth shutout to stopped a two-game losing streak and improve to 8-4-1 (6-4-1 SOL American). Hatboro-Horsham (1-11-0, 1-10-0) lost its seventh straight.

North Penn 9, Quakertown 1 >> Cheyenne Cravener scored the first two goals then completed the hat trick in the second half as North Penn rolled past Quakertown to snap a five-game losing streak.

Eleni Kountrbouis added two goals for the Knights (4-8-0, 3-6-0 SOL Continental), who led 6-0 at halftime. Jillian Lampitoc, Madison Stotler, Emily Crawford and Kristin Varilla also scored for NP.

Makenzie Adamson had the lone goal for Quakertown (3-11-0, 0-9-0) while Panthers goalkeeper Alexis Landis made 21 saves.

Spring-Ford 5, Central Bucks West 1 >> Ashley Sessa scored twice and also collected an assist as Spring-Ford picked up the win in a non-league contest in which all six goals were scored in the first half.

Amanda Creece had the goals for the Bucks (3-11-1, 3-5-1 SOL Continental) off a Lauren Han assist.

Mackenna Maloney finished with a goal and assist for the Rams while Alexa Collins and Kate Crist each scored a goal.

Germantown Academy 8, Shipley School 1 >> Sammy Popper found the back of the cage five times while Catherine McFadden dished out three assists as Germantown Academy won its second straight in the non-league matchup.

Sophie Towne, Ella Brant and Bri O’Hara all scored a goal for the Patriots (6-3-1, 2-1-1 Inter-Ac) with Ella Henry earning an assist.

New Hope-Solebury 3, Dock Mennonite 0 >> Kate Dougherty put New Hope-Solebury up in the first half while Sarah Hayden and Erin Firth added to the lead after the break as the Lions blanked Dock Mennonite for a Bicentennial Athletic League win.

Sophie Zaskoda made nine saves for Dock (8-4-0, 7-3-0 league). Ella Czarnelle earned an assist on Dougherty’s goal.
