Mercury Field Hockey Roundup: Balanced offense carries Boyertown to victory

It was another instance of offense by committee.

Nine different players got on the stat sheet for the Boyertown field hockey team Tuesday. With those contributions, the Bears easily rolled over Norristown, 10-0, in their Pioneer Athletic Conference Liberty Division contest.

Kelsi McDevitt scored twice and added a pair of assists while Lauren Eves (assist) and Remi Lloyd each finished with two goals.

Alyssa Vu (assist), Emily Baro, Kylie Heffentrager and Alex Morgan rounded out the scorers while Lindsay Flack added two assists.

Perkiomen Valley 3, Spring-Ford 1 >> The Vikings topped the Rams in a PAC Liberty Division matchup to continue their unbeaten run.

Upper Perkiomen 9, Pottstown 0 >> AiYi Young’s hat trick headed a balanced offensive for the Indians as they rolled the Trojans in their PAC Frontier Division contest.

UP got two other goals from Kylene Gooch while Abriana Gatto, Colleen Crenti and Margo May each contributed one goal and an assist. Jenna Fiorito rounded out the team scoring, and Sydney Crossin got credit for an assist.

Phoenixville 6, Pottsgrove 0 >> Gabby Herschell scored the Phantoms’ first four goals to get them rolling toward their PAC Frontier Division victory over the Falcons.

Sydney Aling assisted on two of Herschell’s goals, and Ameerah Green one.  Lucy O’Donnell made it 5-0 and before Cassidy Stevens, assisted by Hershell, closed out the Phoenixville scoring.

Pope John Paul II 3, Upper Merion 2 >> The Golden Panthers used a 2-0 advantage in the second half to claim a PAC Frontier Division win over the Vikings.

Madison Green, Maeve Riley and Caroline Slattery were credited with goals for PJP. Samme Deskiewicz and Nitzy Vrias scored for Upper Merion.

Hamburg 3, Daniel Boone 2 >> Aubrey Newman accounted for all the Blazers’ scoring as they were edged by the Hawks in Berks Conference play.

Clara Lacek and Makenzie Ring assisted on Newman’s tallies. Ashley Finkbiner added six-save goaltending.
