Mercury Field Hockey Roundup: Koury, OJR top Upper Perk

Maddi Koury scored two goals and assisted on another to steer the Owen J. Roberts field hockey team to a 5-1 Pioneer Athletic Conference divisional-crossover victory over Upper Perkiomen on Wednesday.

Koury was assisted on her second tally by Bridget Gallagher, and she assisted on Julia Lamb’s goal. Natalie Fuertsch and Olivia LeClaire also scored for OJR, with other assists credited to Jenna Kirby and Lamb.

Upper Perk’s goal came from Kylene Gooch, with AiYi Young on the assist.

Cayden Jarvis made two goalie saves for OJR and Carly Eidle had five for UP.

Roberts outshot the Indians 9-5 and had a 7-6 edge in corners.

Pottstown 1, Chichester 1 >> Courtney Bratten scored the Trojans’ lone goal during their non-conference tie with the Eagles.

Lillian Stirk finished with four saves for Pottstown.

Academy of Notre Dame 2, The Hill School 2 >> The Hill rallied from two goals down to earn a hard-fought tie with Academy of Notre Dame, the No. 1 ranked team in the nation according to Max Field Hockey.

Logan Clouser scored both Hill goals in the second half to level the match after Notre Dame got goals from Lauren Curran and Sophia Amos.

Co-captain Tatumn Eccleston and Madison Orsi were defensive standouts while freshman goalkeeper Hayley Gable impressed with 17 saves.
