Mercury Field Hockey Roundup: Methacton tops Spring-Ford

Methacton 4, Spring-Ford 2 >> Katy Benton’s hat trick was key to the Warriors doubling up the Rams in their PAC Liberty Division game.

Madison Noh rounded out Methacton’s scoring, Liz Chipman and Elena Snodgrass each had assists and Rachel Alderfer made one defensive save to complement Molly Frey’s five-save goaltending. Katelyn Crist produced both Spring-Ford’s goals.

Pottsgrove 4, Pope John Paul II 2 >> Riley Simon struck twice with five minutes to play as part of her three-goal day to lift Pottsgrove to its first PAC win of the season Friday.

Lydia Mace also scored for the Falcons (2-1-1) while assists came from Justine Fretz, Bailey Murphy and Kathryn Henriksen.

Perkiomen Valley 14, Norristown 0 >> The Vikings got multi-point performances from Kelly Battinger, Bryn Marcavage, Bella Ricci and Maya Fulmer in a one-sided PAC win over the Eagles.

Owen J. Roberts 8, Boyertown 0 >> Jenna Kirby handled half the scoring as her four goals led the Wildcats to a PAC win. Other OJR scorers were Maddi Koury, Olivia Leclaire, Raina Smolij and Julia Lamb while Eloise Gebert and Bridget Gallagher had assists.

Upper Perkiomen 10, Upper Merion 0 >> Abriana Gatto and Morgan Fiorito each had a hat trick while Micheala Greczek (2G, 1A) and AiYi Young (1G, 1A) rounded out the scoring in Upper Perkiomen’s PAC win.
