Tornetta sisters deliver for Agnes Irwin

Nobody can slow down the Agnes Irwin field hockey team these days.

The Tornetta sisters delivered in the clutch and the Owls earned their 11th conseuctive win with a 2-1 decision over Academy of Notre Dame. Sophia tied the game with 15 minutes to go and Julianna netted the winning goal three minutes later. Sophia assisted on Julianna’s goal with key passes from Elly Kirkpatrick and Lucy Maguire. Rosie Kalis made 12 saves between the posts for the Owls (12-1, 5-0).

Mary Kate Neff had the lone Notre Dame goal.

Episcopal Academy 3, Germantown Academy 1:  Christie Palazzese, Ali Rushton and Corinne Zanolli were the top performers for EA with one goal apiece. Palazzese and Colby Gallagher supplied one assist each.

In the Central League:

Radnor 6, Marple Newtown 0: Lydia Sydnor scored twice and added an assist, Lexi Kenneally added a pair of tallies and goalie Kylee Rutty made saves for the Raiders (8-9, 7-3). Katie Jordan chipped in with a goal and an assist while Kaelee Helms also found the back for the net.

Haverford 3, Springfield 0:  Sophie Maute (goal, assist) played a big role in helping the Fords to their 11th win of the season and goalie Katie Wyman the shutout. Jill DiOrio and Abbey Romano also notched goals for Haverford.

Harriton 1, Strath Haven 0:  Harriton’s Laura Lasprogata crashed the net, scooped up a rebound and fired in the winning goal with 2:06 to play in overtime. The host Rams received a strong performance from senior captains Lily Furcht (defense) and Taylor Streko (midfield). Freshman Meg Willcox and sophomore Sophie Grady were stellar in the midfield.

Conestoga 5, Penncrest 0 :  Kailey Martin, Marina Parsons and Maitlin Combs played well in defeat for the Lions. Brielle McQuiston finished with 14 saves in net.

Garnet Valley 11, Upper Darby 0:  Jackie Daniels led a scoring onslaught by the Jaguars (6-10, 6-4) with three goals. Jessika Daniel and Anna Dunn pitched in two a pair of tallies and goalie Hailey Valerio recorded three saves.

Ridley 2, Lower Merion 0:  Brooke Nasella fired in both Ridley goals and goalie Cait Johnson posted three saves. Emily Johnston added an assist.

In the Bicentennial League:

Delco Christian 8, Morrisville 0: Ava Berzinsky’s three-goal performance guided the Knights to an easy road victory. Madison Moore, Allie Zubyk, Emily Pendell, Jodie Barr and Abby McManus netted one goal apiece for DC (9-7, 7-5). Jamie Madison and Rose Favino teamed up in goal for the shutout.
