Juniors Jesse Brittain and Grant Sareyka scored two goals each in the first half to power The Christian Academy to a 5-1 victory over Plumstead Christian in Bicentennial boys soccer league action Friday.
Sophomore Caleb Chambers converted a penalty kick in the second half to complete the scoring.
Luke Dutton, Tim Fountain, junior Joel Griffith and sophomore Aidan Montgomery were solid on the back line.
In the Central League:
Radnor 2, Ridley 1 >> First-half goals from Jake Lee and Ben Engstrom powered the Raiders in their league opener. Bobby Kirsch added an assist and goalie Nate Congleton made one save.
Keah Tobey converted a pass from Adam Louricki to get the Green Raiders on the board in the second half. Keeper Zach Ritz turned back three shots.
In nonleague action:
Upper Darby 2, Interboro 1 >> Goalie Phil Nmah had an impact on offense and defense. Nmah had an assist on the first of Lionel Kone’s two goals and also made eight saves and turned in a clean sheet in the second half. Kone rewarded his keeper’s effort when he scored the winner in the 65th minute to keep the Royals (3-0) undefeated.
John Ameyaw scored late in the first half for the Bucs, while Andre Quinn made five saves, including a pair of spectacular stops.
Harriton 3, Academy Park 2 >> The Rams used a three-goal burst in the second half to get past the Knights.
After Academy Park’s Andy Baryeh put home a pass from Abdu Sonnie to break a scoreless tie 10 minutes into the second half, the Rams scored the next three goals, two by Alex Kades and one from Gibreel Mami.
Tahjay Swaby scored off an assist from Daniel Pitt late in the game to round out the scoring for AP.
Strath Haven 6, Bishop Shanahan 1 >> Nate Perrins scored two goals and handed out one assist, and Emmett Young dished out three helpers to pace the Panthers. Noah Atsaves (five saves), Nick Kokol (three saves) and Ian Lembo (one save) shared the goalkeeping duties.
Delco Christian 10, Glen Mills 0 >> Micah Metricardi led the way with two goals and one assist. Jack Dill pitched in with one goal and one assist.
Goalie Will Campbell stopped four shots.
Jac Andrews made eight saves for the Bulls.
