Wong helps Funston start right for Bonner & Prendergast

Isaiah Wong picked up right where he left off last year.

The reigning Delco Times Player of the Year scored 31 points to lead Bonner & Prendergast to an 80-72 win over Our Savior Lutheran of New York Friday night.

Tyreese Watson did some serious work for Bonner, scoring 17 points to go with 10 assists and eight rebounds. Tariq Ingraham and Chris Haynes added nine points each for the Friars, who won in Kevin Funston’s first game in charge.

Archbishop Carroll 93, West Philadelphia 53 >> The Carroll offense welcomed new coach Francis Bowe with six double-figures scorers in a rout. It’s the most points scored by Carroll in a game since at least the 2012-13 season.

Luke House led the way with 18 points. Chichester transfer Amiri Stewart added 17 points, Shawn Johnson and Kiyl Mack had 14 each, Anquan Hill added 12 and Ny’mire Litte 11 as the Patriots hit 13 3-pointers.

Cardinal O’Hara 69, Kennett 58 >> Anthony Purnell scored 20 points, including 6-for-6 from the line in the fourth quarter, Tre Dinkins added 12 points and Adrian Irving chipped in 11 in Ryan Nemetz’s winning debut at O’Hara.

Upper Darby 51, Martin Luther King 40 >> Shareef Jones scored 10 of his 13 points in the second half, and Diby Keita added 13 points for the Royals. Mamadou Toure chipped in 12 points for UD.

Interboro 52, Motivation 47 >> Damon Dukes scored 18 points to go with nine rebounds, and Jared Dellipriscoli added 16 points as the Bucs matched their win total from last season out of the gates.

Connor Hughes added 11 points for Interboro.

Sun Valley 84, Harriton 77 >> Vinny DeAngelo tallied a game-high 39 points, and Isaac Kennon added 25 points as the Vanguards went to double-OT to start with a win.

Penncrest 51, Chester Charter School for the Arts 37 >> Matt Arbogast paired 11 points with six rebounds, and Dylan Bittle and Aidan Carroll scored 10 points each for the Lions.

Jamihy Evans led CCSA with 13 points.

Penn Wood 57, Bensalem 45 >> Antonio Campbell hit four 3-pointers to notch 22 points, and Desman Johnson added 12 points for the Patriots. Kennedy Poles chipped in 11 points.

Garnet Valley 64, Phoenixville 56 >> Greg Vlassopoulos scored 19 points, and Carl Schaller tallied 15, including a 9-for-11 performance from the line in the fourth quarter, to lead the Jags. Neel Beniwal chipped in 10 points, and Tyler Pendergass added nine.

Archbishop Wood 54, Episcopal Academy 41 >> Alex Capitano scored 14 points, and Matt Dade added 12 before fouling out for the Churchmen.

Neshaminy 50, Marple Newtown 48 >> Tommy Gardler poured in 18 points, and Mike Tansey, Aziz Khammassi and Joey Pettinelli added seven points each for the Tigers.

Pottsville 59, Glen Mills 27 >> Aaron Thompson and Jabriel Guinyard scored six points each as the Battlin’ Bulls struggled offensively.
