Ridley Wings it to survive Penncrest scare

Julian Wing scored eight points, but his final basket was decisive, a game-winning 3-pointer with 0.7 seconds left to lead Ridley to a 30-27 Central League win over Penncrest Saturday night.

Ryan Bollinger led Ridley (14-1, 10-0) with nine points on a night where Brett Foster was limited to five.

Tyler Norwood led all scorers with 15 points for Penncrest (8-8, 5-5).

Also in the Central League:

Haverford 44, Marple Newtown 38 >> Jack Donaghy scored 11 points, and Jamie Gillen added nine for the Fords.

Mark Dever kept Marple in touch with nine points.

Harriton 45, Upper Darby 43 >> Juwan May-Craddle hit four 3-pointers to tally 14 points, but the Royals (5-10, 4-7) stumbled.

In nonleague action:

Academy Park 90, Phoenixville 63 >> Jawan Collins hit eight 3-pointers to finish with 30 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and five steals as the Knights set a school record with 18 3-pointers. DeAndray Covert added 15 points, and freshman Khyree Temple marked his debut with 14 points.

Sun Valley 50, Interboro 48 >> Kyle Ryan scored 17 points, and Wali Sabree and Ryan Hall scored 10 apiece to pace the Vanguards.

Josh Encarnacion led Interboro with 12, and Brandon Conlin chipped in 11.

Aquinas Institute 60, Chester 56 >> Marquis Collins drained four triples to finish with 14 points, and Ahrod Carter added 13 points, but Chester (8-6) had a six-game winning streak snapped at the Can-Am Classic in Erie.

Downingtown West 53, Penn Wood 45 >> Kairi Jones scored nine points, and Calvin Melton and Javon Lindsey-Terrell added eight each for the Patriots.

W.C. Rustin 48, Glen Mills 43 >> Myron Sanders scored a game-high 18 points, but the Battlin’ Bulls couldn’t come up with enough stops down the stretch.
