Mercury Swimming Roundup: Fresa sets record, Upper Perkiomen tops Spring-Ford

Upper Perkiomen 91, Spring-Ford 79 >> Noel Fresa’s record showing led the Indians to victory over the Rams in PAC competition.

Fresa’s winning time of 1:00.01 in the 100 fly broke a 22-year-old UP team record by 1.71 seconds, and she also won the 50 free (24.32). Bailey McCausland gave the Tribe another pair of firsts in the 200 free (2:05.15) and 100 breast (1;12.64) while Emma Thomas (500 free, 5:43.28) and Katie Parker (100 back, 1:04.50) won events for Spring-Ford.

Reading High 108, Daniel Boone 68 >> Rachel Woomer won the Blazers’ lone individual races in their meet with the Red Knights.

Woomer took the 200 IM (2:18.55) and the 100 breast (1:12.51).

Spring-Ford 110, Upper Perkiomen 60 >> Kyle Kovalenko won two individual events to lead the Indians in their PAC meet with the Rams Thursday.

Kovalenko took first in the 200 free (1:52.22) and 100 breast (1:02.59). Spring-Ford’s individual event winners were Cory Laing in the 200 IM (2:18.55), Brendan Naganski in the 50 free (22.48), Sean Laing in the 100 fly (56.79), Sam Ricci in the 100 free (53.34) and Luke McKenna in the 500 free (4:52.24); it also swept the relays, with the Laings and Baganski swimming legs of the 200 and 400 free events.

Reading High 100, Daniel Boone 73 >> Chris Guiliano won two individul races to head the Blazers in their meet with the Red Knights.

Guiliano headed the 100 free (48.12) and 100 breast (1:04.47). He also swam the anchor leg on Boone’s winning 200 free relay, teaming with Justin Eves, Jacob Santos and Jesse Wounderly for a 1;35.63 clocking.
