Recap

Hill (15-6) used its balanced scoring and much improved defense to beat The Hun School in the MAPL Semifinals 74-43. The Blues will now advance to the play Blair in the championship game tomorrow for their 4th match-up in the last five years. The Blues were led in scoring by the hot shooting of Gabe Dorsey ’21, Caleb Dorsey’ 20 and Chase Audige ’18 who combined for twelve three point makes and 48 of Hill’s 74 points. Hill also got great contributions from Justin Adedinsewo ’19 who continued his stellar defensive effort to the tune of four steals and Nick Alikakos ’18 who had 16 points  and 8 rebounds of his own.

After a close 1st quarter that saw Hill up by 6, 15-9, Hill opened up its lead in the second quarter stretching to as much as 15 points which is what they would take into halftime with a 35-20 lead. William and Mary commit Chase Audige ’18 had a strong first half with 10 points, including two three point makes to open up Hun’s zone defense that tried to slow Hill down all night. It was the combination of the Dorsey brothers that proved to be too much for the home school as Hill went on a 20-3 run to finish out the third quarter with Caleb Dorsey ’20 hitting four straight 3’s and and Gabe Dorsey ’21 hitting two straight to put the game away. Hill will have to continue its hot shooting tomorrow against a tough Blair team that got the better of Hill during the regular season handing Hill its first home loss in nearly two seasons.
