Hill School 58, West Nottingham 45 >> The Blues celebrated their Senior Day Hill (13-9) won its fifth straight game, celebrating senior day with a win over a talented West Nottingham Academy team from Maryland that is their fifth in a row.

Starting an all Class of 2019 starting lineup (Justin Adedinsewo, Andrew Fish, Syre Gruber, Xavier Mayo, Ronnie Toole), Hill played WNA even the first few minutes, sparked by a three from Fish. But WNA would open up a 13-5 lead, and control the game for much of the opening half. Down 33-25 at halftime, the Blues would fall behind by double digits before pushing back to trim the deficit to 38-33 entering the final quarter.

Great offensive rebounding and putbacks from co-captain Xavier Mayo helped spark the comeback. Down 45-40, Hill would finish the game on an 18-0 run to earn the win. The play that spoke to Hill’s desire to not lose on this day came when Justin Adedinsewo deflected a pass and chased it down, diving headlong to possess the ball and find a cutting Ryan Moffatt for the go-ahead basket.

Moffatt had a monster fourth quarter, scoring 12 of his game and season-high 25 points, to lead Hill to victory. Gabe Dorsey added 9 points, and Mayo finished with 8 to pace the Hill offense.
