Malvern Prep baseball squad wins 3 games in one day

The Malvern Prep baseball squad won three games on Thursday, the final one an 8-7 win against a defending state champion, Christian Brothers Academy.
Malvern Prep head coach Freddy Hilliard said, “We were exhausted [at the end of the day], especially after beating CBA that way.”
In the first game, Malvern Prep beat Lawrence Academy, 10-2. Sean Flynn pitched six fine innings, yielding just five hits and two unearned runs.  He also helped himself with an RBI double to break the tie early. Matt Daller added two hits and three RBIs.
In the second game, Malvern Prep defeated Hackley High School, 12-3. Mason Abate got the win surrendering just one hit and no earned in three innings or relief.  Jake Mullan added a two-run double and run scored. Vince Sposato also added a two-run double.
In the third and final game of the day, Malvern Prep edged Christian Brothers Academy, 8-7, in a matchup of defending state champions. The Friars came out on top in a back and forth game courtesy of a two-run walkoff single in bottom of seventh by Cameron Williams.  Billy Corcoran got the win by tossing 3.1 innings of shutout baseball yielding just three hits and five strikeouts.  Shane Muntz hit a mammoth two-run home run to start the scoring for the Friars.
Friday, Malvern Prep defeated Princeton Day School, 17-6. Brent Greeley picked up his first win of the season going 4.1 and striking out five on just one hit.  Shane Muntz added two hits, one of which was a grand slam. Sean Flynn was 2-for-2 with three runs scored and an rbi and Vince Sposato added two doubles and four RBIs.
