Three Perkiomen School athletes commit to colleges

Three Perkiomen School athletes recently committed to the universities of their choice during the school’s signing day earlier this month.

David Smith, of Collegeville, Pa., signed a letter of intent to play baseball for the LaSalle University Explorers.  Carlos Torres, of Coamo, Puerto Rico, signed a letter of intent to play baseball for the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks. Keeshawn Kellman, of Allentown, Pa., has committed to Princeton University’s application process and will play basketball as a Princeton Tiger.

Major Athletic Honors: Led Allentown Central Catholic to 2017-2018 District 11-5A championship; Second Team All-Area honors; Named Coordinated Health Athlete of the Week last season (Nominated for Athlete of the Year). 

Academic/Community Service: Usher at AME Zion Church in Allentown; GoPro Skills Camp counselor.

Academic/Community Service: Pitch in For Baseball proctor; Student Ambassador.

Name: Carlos Torres

College Selection: Lehigh University

Sport: Baseball

Position: Pitcher

Anticipated Major: Engineering

Parents: Carlos Torres and Wilka Alicea

Major Athletic Honors: Varsity team captain.
