Streaking Shipley baseball team relies on ‘small ball’ to edge Abington Friends

The Shipley School baseball team used “small ball” to pull out a 6-5 win against Abington Friends Tuesday, as three suicide squeezes plated three runs.  Evan Johnson squeezed in two runs, with the last one scoring his brother, Phil Johnson in the sixth inning, which would eventually be the game winner.  Pete Sobelman and Jesse Haines each went 2-for-3 on the day.  Blake Rodack went the distance and picked up his second win of the year for Shipley (12-6), which has won eight of their last nine games.
