DLN Baseball Roundup: Avon Grove tops Downingtown East; Great Valley and Downingtown West earn wins

Avon Grove 4, Downingtown East 0 >> The pitching trio of Alex Ei, Alex Gaydos and Ryan Gerenser combined for a complete game shutout as the Red Devils (3-6, 3-6) beat the Cougars (5-5, 5-5).
Ei earned the win as he pitched four innings, allowed two hits and struck out two. Gaydos struck out three in 1 1/3 innings while Gerenser allowed two hits in 1 2/3 innings.
Matt Greenjack went 3-for-3 with two RBI in the win.

Great Valley 3, Oxford 2 (9 innings) >> Connor Malloy went 4-for-4 to lead the Patriots to an extra inning triumph over Ches-Mont American rivals from Oxford. Jameson Sarr chipped in three hits for Great Valley (3-7, 4-7). Brendan Ward had three hits for the Hornets (5-4, 5-4).

Downingtown West 14, Unionville 4 (6 innings) >> The visiting Whippets (8-1, 8-1) exploded for six runs in the sixth inning to eventually subdue the Indians (4-4, 4-4) in Ches-Mont action. Mike Mollenhauer had a home run and a double to lead West  Reyce Curnane added a home run and Drew Britt added two doubles. Brady Horne had two hits for Unionville.

West Chester East 1, Sun Valley 0  >> Thomas Luckner pitched a complete game shutout as the Vikings (8-1, 8-2) defeated the Vanguards (4-5, 4-5).
Luckner allowed five hits and struck out eight.
Christian Bateman pitched five innings without allowing an earned run, extending his streak to 21 innings without allowing one.

Strath Haven 4, Conestoga 3 (8 innings) >> The Pioneers dropped their first outing of the season to the Panthers in a Central League clash. Tim Miller had two hits, including a two-run homer, and Angus Mayock chipped in with two doubles for Conestoga.
