Flyers Cup: Peabody, Irey have Haven on the move

Josh Peabody and Mike Irey accounted for five points each as No. 2 seed Strath Haven took care of business in the first round of the Flyers Cup Class A with an 11-1 win over No. 15 seed Hatboro-Horsham Tuesday night.

Irey scored twice to go with three assists, and Peabody handed out four helpers to go with a goal. Ryan Spanier had two goals and an assist. Liam Carney contributed a goal and three helpers. Johnny Stellabotte added three points, and Morgan Bensel lit the lamp twice for the Panthers, who move onto the quarterfinals Thursday to take on No. 10 seed Unionville. The Indians handled No. 7 Lower Moreland, 12-4, Monday night.

Also in the Flyers Cup Class A:

Palmyra 7, Springfield 6 >> Evan Saxman completed his hat trick in overtime, providing the game-winning goal as the No. 5 seed held off the upset attempt of the No. 12 Cougars at Ice Line. Details for Springfield were not reported.

W.C. Rustin 12, Sun Valley 0 >> The top-seeded Knights made quick work of the Vanguards. Details were not reported.
