Mercury Wrestling Roundup: Pope John Paul II’s Ryan Vulakh reaches 100 wins

South East AA >> Ryan Vulakh joined the growing list of area wrestlers reaching the 100-win mark during first-round action at the regional at Wilson-West Lawn.

He also had the first entry for the Pope John Paul II mat program.

The PJP senior Vulakh got his milestone victory with a 3:32 pin of Pequea Valley’s Dylan Jackson at 152.

Vulakh’s teammates — brother Matt at 106, Jack Files at 195 ­— were PJP’s other first-round winners. Matt pinned Susquenita’s Jaxen Zimmerman in 1:17, and Files pinned Upper Dauphin’s Ben Cope in 48 seconds.
