Friends’ Central captures Friends Schools League swim titles

Wynnewood >> Friends’ Central captured first place once again at the Friends Schools League Swimming Championships. The Phoenix boys (5-1) defended their league title successfully for the 16th consecutive time, and the Phoenix girls (6-0) did likewise, placing one or more swimmers in the top six in 21 out of the 22 total events.
“Virtually everyone brought their A+ game today,” said Friends’ Central head coach Iain Anderson. “This was a very exciting win for our boys’ and girls’ teams, and I could not be prouder of the job they did.”
First-place finishers for the Friends’ Central boys were the 200 medley relay team (Ethan Cohen, Mason Davis, Billy Wilkerson, Hugh Shields), Holden Kopcsik (200 free), Billy Wilkerson (100 free, 100 back) and the 400 free relay team (Ethan Cohen, Spencer Thorne, Holden Kopcsik, Billy Wilkerson).
First-place finishers for the Friends’ Central girls were the 400 free relay teams (Elisabeth Forsyth, Amanda Thompson, Anna Volpp, Maddie Anderson), Elisabeth Forsyth (100 free) and Amanda Thompson (500 free).
