Early start no problem for Radnor’s Mueller

An early wake-up call did nothing to slow down Ellie Mueller Sunday.

The Radnor forward dominated Boyertown, tallying 24 points and 10 rebounds to earn game MVP honors and lead the Raiders to a 59-40 win at the Maggie Lucas Classic at Jefferson University.

Brianne Williams hit three first-half 3-pointers for 12 points, and Holly Holtsberg paired eight points with six rebounds for the Raiders (9-3).

Also at the Maggie Lucas Classic:

Garnet Valley 69, Shipley 46 >> Emily McAteer was the game MVP with 22 points, including nine in the fourth quarter to salt away the victory, plus six rebounds as the Jags advanced to 11-0.

Madi McKee scored 14 points, and Brianne Borcky paired 13 points with seven assists for the Jaguars.

Cardinal O’Hara 33, Mount St. Joseph 26 >> Amaris Baker went off for 16 points, and Kerry Patterson and Sydni Scott each tossed in six points for the Lions.

Notre Dame 64, Merion Mercy 24 >> Maeve McErlane canned three 3-pointers for 13 points, and Maggie Pina chipped in 10 points for the Irish, who had 12 players hit the score sheet. Mandy McGurk and Julia Dever added eight points apiece.

St. Basil 37, Episcopal Academy 21 >> Riley Cassidy hit two 3-pointers in the first quarter and scored a game-high 12 points, but the Churchwomen (4-11) scored just three points in each of the final three quarters in stumbling to the setback. Raeleen Keffer-Scharpf added five points for EA.

C.B. West 39, Springfield 34 >> Jordan D’Ambrosio scored 17 points to earn game MVP honors, but her seven field goals were complemented by just five from the rest of the Cougars in a quiet offensive outing. Alexa Abbonizio buried three 3-pointers for nine points for Springfield (10-2).
