Mercury Girls Swimming Roundup: Spring-Ford races past Upper Merion

Spring-Ford 99, Upper Merion 70 >> Katie Parker figured in on three first-place finishes for the Rams in their PAC meet with the Vikings.

Parker won the 100 fly in 1:05.63, then swam legs of Spring-Ford’s winning 200 medley (2:02.20) and 200 free (1:00.0) relays. Lindsay Yaen won two individual races for UM, taking the 200 IM (2:24.18) and 100 breast (1:12.02).

Boyertown 90, Upper Perkiomen 80 >> Grace and Gabrielle McKee each won two individual events to key the Bears’ win over the Indians in PAC competition.

Grace took the 200 free (2:05.91) and 10 back (1:03.09), with Gabrielle doing the same in the 200 IM (2;13.72) and 100 fly (1:00.90). Noel Fresa was a two-race winner for UP, heading the 50 free (24.91) and 100 free (54.88).

Methacton 130, Norristown 43 >> Hailey Mcgarrity, Sara Fleck and Chandler Gibbs each won two individual races to lead the Warriors in their PAC meet with the Eagles.

Mcgarrity took the 200 IM (2:35.91) and 100 fly (1:09.57), Fleck headed the 50 free (26.93) and 500 free (5:46.44) and Gibbs won the 100 free (1:02.24) and 100 back (1:11.60) for Methacton. Norristown’s lone first came in the 400 free relay.

Perkiomen School 84, Barrack Hebrew 80 >> Angela Forsythe won two individual events to help the Panthers edge out Barrack Hebrew.

Forsythe took the 200 IM and 100 back in addition to swimming a leg on Perkiomen’s winning 200 free and 200 medley relays.
