McLaughlin helps Episcopal pin down comeback win

Paul McLaughlin’s pin over Westtown School’s Elisha Arauz in 2 minutes, 36 seconds Thursday made the difference for Episcopal Academy in a 42-36 nonleague win.

The Churchmen were playing from behind the entire way thanks to three straight Westtown pins at 120, 126 and 132. Alex Bendinelli’s major decision at 138 started to turn the tide and kicked off a stretch of seven EA wins in nine bouts.

Kevin Li followed with a major decision at 145, as did Frederick Greene at 170. Jesse Bell-Taylor needed just 23 seconds to secure a pin at 160, Evan Zanolli worked into the second period for his pin at 192 and Glay Yang needed 1:52 to get his opponents’ shoulders to the mat in the 195-pound bout.
