Witmer helps Upper Darby dig up a win over Chester

Lexie Witmer came up with 24 digs and nine aces to lead Upper Darby to a 3-0 win over Chester in nonleague action Thursday.

Savannah Miller and Chelsea Akabogu combined for nine kills, and Desiree Timmons chipped in four aces for UD, which won by game scores of 25-11, 25-10 and 25-18.

In other nonleague action:

Notre Dame 3, Ridley 0 >> Grace Guren was a menace at the net with seven blocks to go with eight aces, and Christine Covelo and Emma Jardine combined for 18 assists as the Irish (10-1) swept, 25-22, 25-10 and 25-21.

Melanie June had 21 kills for Ridley. Angela April supplied nine kills and 11 digs, while Kara Green added nine digs and two aces.

In the Ches-Mont League:

Sun Valley 3, Coatesville 0 >> Hannah Vickers did a little of everything, with 10 kills, 11 assists and seven aces to pace the Vanguards to a sweep by game scores of 25-13, 25-17 and 25-21.

Olivia Nickeson added seven kills, Kristine Guenther paired five kills with 11 assists and Gia DiEmidio supplied five kills and three blocks for Sun Valley (13-3, 6-3).

In the Del Val League:

Chichester 3, Penn Wood 0 >> Madison Weigand dished 17 assists to go with seven kills and four aces for the Eagles in a 25-18, 25-14, 24-23 sweep.

Keyairrah Davie fired nine kills to go with five aces and four digs, and Hope Corrales added six kills and three aces for Chi.

In the Catholic League:

Cardinal O’Hara 3, Lansdale Catholic 0 >> Sarah McGarrity came up with 19 digs, and Maeve Boylan did it all with 19 assists, seven digs, seven aces and four kills as O’Hara romped past the Crusaders, 25-16, 25-16 and 25-23, in a battle of teams previously unbeaten in the league.

Regan Hickey added 11 kills, and Siobhan Boylan tucked away nine kills for O’Hara (17-1, 8-1).

Bonner & Prendergast 3, Hallahan 0 >> Dakota McCaughan and Abby Lance each compiled seven-dig, three-assists nights, and Kelly Eisenhart served up five aces for the Pandas in a 25-13, 25-14, 25-16 sweep. Lindsey Fagan added seven digs, five assists and two kills for Bonner & Prendie (9-6, 6-4).
