Mercury Golf Roundup: Methacton reclaims PAC team title

It ended up playing second fiddle to Spring-Ford in the 2017 Pioneer Athletic Conference team tournament.

But this time around, the Methacton boys golf team reversed the result Thursday.

The Warriors outshot the Rams, 179-187, at Gilbertsville Golf Club. It also reversed the teams’ regular-season status, Methacton the Final Four’s second seed behind top-seeded Spring-Ford.
Dylan Lasecki led the field with a nine-hole score of 34. The Methacton senior had the lone sub-par round, teammate Jason Rieger and SF’s Josh Brauer checking in even-par at 35.
Andrew Catania and Luke Watson carded 36s for the Warriors and Rams, respectively. A.J. Thomas and John Haley followed with 37s for Methacton while Spring-Ford got 39s from Axel Kalbach and Nate Pierce.

East’s Liddie McCook and West’s Lily Byrne were co-leaders with three-over-par 38s. Ava O’Sullivan (40) and Katelyn Samples and Isabella D’Ambrosio (45s) checked in for East (10-0, 11-0) ahead of Rosie Byrne (48) for West (8-2).
