Criscuolo’s career day results in Radnor win

Down six points in the fifth set, Radnor rallied Wednesday to complete a 3-2 Central League volleyball win over Springfield. Scores were 19-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21 and 19-17.

Izzy Criscuolo enjoyed a career game with 21 kills, four blocks and two aces for the Raiders. Grayce Henderson totaled 15 kills, nine digs and two blocks.

Erica DiCarlo had an all-around solid night with 48 assists, eight aces, 16 digs and five kills. Defensively, the Raiders were led by libero Sammy Scannapieco (27 digs) and defensive specialist Grace Remphrey (18 digs).

Gordan Galloway paced the Cougars with 10 digs and seven kills. Maddie Sitley added 10 kills and Ashley Dolan dealt 14 assists.

Elsewhere in the Central League:

Garnet Valley 3, Lower Merion 0 >> Make it 11 straight wins to start the season for the Jags, who downed the Aces by scores of 25-11, 25-11, 25-13.

Samantha Mann and Ally Hartney led the way with nine kills apiece while hitting .600 and .500, respectively. Gwen Clark pitched in with six kills, four aces, two blocks and three digs, while Dolce Whitwell added five kills, 11 digs and three aces.

Marple Newtown 3, Upper Darby 2 >> The Royals battled back from a two-set deficit, but lost the tiebreaker, 15-13. Violet Lange posted 36 digs, six kills and two blocks. Alison Asacreggi finished with 10 kills and five blocks, while Savannah Miller contributed 26 digs, 10 aces and four kills.

No player information for Marple Newtown was reported.

Strath Haven 3, Penncrest 1 >> Ellie Fisher and Gabby McGinn both racked up 18 kills and 18 digs for the Panthers, who won 25-17, 25-16, 17-25, 25-20. Megan Prendergast chipped in with 19 digs and three aces, Hailey Blum notched 12 digs and 38 assists, and Erin O’Brien registered seven digs and three aces.

Conestoga 3, Ridley 1 >> Melanie June tallied 18 digs and Madison Vinovrski contributed six blocks, but their strong defense wasn’t enough to help the Green Raiders past the Pioneers, who won by scores of 25-17, 21-25, 25-21, 25-19.

In the Del Val League:

Academy Park 3, Chichester 1 >> Maddy Weigand amassed five kills, 10 assists and six aces as the Eagles fell to the Knights in four sets. Keyairrah Davie added 10 kills and Iyania Sorey tallied 16 digs.
