Mercury Girls Soccer Roundup: Perkiomen Valley tops Spring-Ford for 1st time since 2011

Perkiomen Valley 2, Spring-Ford 1, OT >> Sydney Marasco’s sudden-victory goal in the 93rd minute gave the Vikings their first win over the Rams since 2011 on Monday night.

Taylor Reiff assisted on Marasco’s second goal of the night. Earlier, Maggie Sell set up Marasco’s opener. Nandini Patel, assisted by Ally McVey, got Spring-Ford on the scoreboard.

PV goalie Riley Hill had seven saves; Spring-Ford’s Riley Wallace stopped seven.

PV’s previous most recent win over Spring-Ford dated back to Oct. 17, 2011, a 3-2 PV win.

Upper Perkiomen 2, Pottstown 0 >> Emily Schaut scored in the fifth minute and Kaitlyn Mundy finished a penalty kick in the 74th as the Tribe downed the Trojans in a PAC Frontier Division matchup.

Schaut’s goal came off a feed from Hannah Keeney. Hannah Landis made seven saves in goal to preserve the shutout while Pottstown keeper Emme Wolfel came away with 11 stops.

Pottsgrove 1, Phoenixville 0 >> Chloe Manogue-Shivak scored with 10 minutes left in the first half to lift the Falcons over the Phantoms in a PAC Frontier Division matchup.

Lexi Zook picked up the assist on a corner kick while Summer Walker came away with one save to pick up her third shutout of the year.

Owen J. Roberts 6, Methacton 0 >> Sarah Kopec and Hannah Delahaye had two goals apiece as the Wildcats handled the Warriors.

Bailey Hunt had three assists while other goals were scored by Sophie Marks and Mia Baumgarten.

Pope John Paul II 2, Upper Merion 0 >> Maddie D’Elia and Mary Kate Shannon each scored a goal in the Golden Panthers’ PAC Frontier Division win over the Vikings.

Delanie Didier and Julia Hull both posted assists while Stacey Kormos made a stop in goal to preserve the shutout. Upper Merion keeper Jordyn Skidds made 10 saves in goal.

Perkiomen School 3, The Christian Academy 1 >> The Panthers scored twice during the first half then added another tally in the second on the way to a non-conference win.
