Mercury Girls Soccer Roundup: Pottstown edges Kutztown

Pottstown 1, Kutztown 0 >> Aniya Hoskins finished a pass from Yasmin Paez late in the second half as the Trojans downed the Cougars in a non-conference matchup Friday.

 Goalie Emme Wolfel had six saves to earn the shutout.

Perkiomen Valley 4, Upper Merion 0 >> PV kicked into overdrive with three goals in an eight-minute span in the second half to down Upper Merion in a PAC crossover. Sydney Marasco headed in a Cassidy Polignano corner kick in the first half. Polignano, Nikki Foller-Moll and Colleen O’Brien scored in the scoring spurt beginning in the 47th minute. Assists went to Foller-Moll, Maddie Zielke and Courtney Lawson. Riley Hill and Kristin O’Donnell each had one save for PV; UM’s Jordyn Skidds made nine saves.

Strath Haven 1, Methacton 0 >> Danielle McNelly scored six minutes into the overtime period as the Panthers dropped the Warriors in a non-league meeting.

Perkiomen School 1, Friends Central 1 >> The Panthers played to a draw during their non-conference matchup against Friends Central.

Rianne Moll evened it up during the second half, scoring off an assist from Cece Vassalli. Abbey Glavin made 34 saves in goal, beaten only by Izzy MacFarland’s goal during the first half.
